Western Australian Screen Industry Awards 2010
The WA Screen Awards (WASA) celebrates innovation and the achievements of Western Australian filmmakers, from students through to established industry professionals. This year, the Industry Awards have been reviewed and there are now two Lotterywest Awards for Outstanding Achievement, each with a $7,000 cash prize courtesy of Lotterywest.
In 2010, the WASA Industry Awards are:
Lotterywest Award for Outstanding Achievement - Production ($7,000 cash prize)
This Award is presented to a Western Australian screen production that has achieved an outstanding level of success in the 2009 calendar year. This can be box office figures, ratings success, critical acclaim, festival success, or national and international awards. The Award is presented to the Producer.
Lotterywest Award for Outstanding Achievement - Practitioner ($7,000 cash prize)
This Award recognises the significant achievements of an individual practitioner. This can be for any craft, and can be for work undertaken on a single production or multiple productions, however, the achievements must have occurred in the 2009 calendar year.
Lotterywest Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry
This is awarded to an individual who has displayed a long-term commitment to WA film and television. Nominations can either be made by the individual or on behalf of another screen industry member.
All three Industry Awards will be judged by a specially convened industry panel. The panel will be chaired by ScreenWest and include representatives from the Industry associations.
Submission deadlines for the Lotterywest Award for Outstanding Achievement - Production and Practitioner are December 15, 2009 (Fee $25) and the extended deadline January 5, 2010 (Fee $50).
