Australian Directors Guild and Animal Logic seminar & masterclass with Steven Soderbergh

Steven Soderbergh will be presenting a seminar and all-day masterclass in Sydney on Saturday November 21, 2009. Applications should be made to the Australian Directors Guild (ADG) and close on November 9, 2009.

You must be a current financial member of the ADG to apply.  The event is in two parts, the morning seminar will be a theatre style presentation with a Q&A open to an audience of over 100 participants. After this, one or more lucky WA Directors will be one of 12 selected Australian directors to go on to participate in a practical masterclass led by Mr Soderbergh exploring the processes of directing actors/ action, shooting and editing. The masterclass is specifically aimed at mid career directors (however those at all levels may apply).

ScreenWest will provide travel assistance of up to $1,000 to the selected Western Australian representative chosen by the ADG for the masterclass.  The ADG will waive the $350 masterclass application fee for the selected Western Australian participant.

Applications are now open to financial ADG Members for both sessions at a cost of $350 (masterclass) and $30 (seminar).

To apply for the masterclass, please send your CV along with a one page statement outlining what you hope to gain from the workshop, how it could support your career development and note if you have an upcoming project that may be assisted by this opportunity. Please also state if you would like a seminar spot if you are unsuccessful in your application for the masterclass.
